Hartlepool Cricket Club and Durham Cricket left-hand opening batter Harry Crawshaw has been named in the England Under 19 tour party that has been announced to tour Sri Lanka in November, 2021. A five match limited-over series is too be played. The squad was announced on the 4th November, 2021.
Harry signed an initial deal with Durham Cricket in October, 2021. He is one of a 19 strong player touring squad that is to be lead by Head Coach, Richard Dawson. This tour by the Young Lions forms part of their ongoing preparations for the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup that is being staged across the Caribbean commencing January, 2022.
The Young Lions arrive in Sri Lanka on Monday, 22nd November, 2021 and will play five One Day Internationals at the Singhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground, (Colombo). The first match is on Tuesday, 30th November, 2021. Whilst on tour Harry will be subject to a bio-secure environment.
Speaking about his selection, Harry said : “I am super excited to head out to Sri Lanka with the Young Lions. I feel fortunate to receive such a good opportunity to improve my game and test myself against some of the best young players in the World. Hopefully, I can put in some good performances and make some match winning contributions”.
