At the General Committee Meeting that was held on Monday, 17th June, 2024 the Committee voted to introduce the following new policy which has immediate application, :-
No person under the age of 18 years old, (ie. children), is permitted to be in the Clubhouse of Hartlepool Cricket Club UNLESS accompanied by an adult, or they are a current member of the Cricket Club.
Should any Junior member of Hartlepool Cricket Club have not yet received their Membership Card for the 2024 season, then please contact the Junior Chair, David JB Thompson, on 07931147637 to obtain their Membership Cards. If not accompanied by an adult, those under the age of 18 may be asked to show their Membership Card.
The above policy has been introduced to ensure that children within the Clubhouse are adequately supervised, (ie. for safeguarding reasons), and that they are in the Clubhouse for legitimate reasons.
The General Committee also wants the following matters to be highlighted, :-
1. Notices are displayed around the cricket ground at Park Drive to make spectators aware of the dangers from cricket balls. Please remain vigilant during play, supervising young children who may wander onto the pitch;
2. When attending training sessions and when playing in matches, our young cricketers will be supervised by the attending cricket coaches;
3. When parents and carers attend Park Drive with their children it’s important they also supervise their children. This is especially important for our younger cricketers, such as the Cricket Reception Tots, Monkeys, Under 9s and Under 11s, plus those taking part in All Stars Cricket, especially after the conclusion of training sessions;
4. The same applies to parents and carers when attending Park Drive when cricket sessions aren’t being held. Unfortunately, in the past there have been complaints about children climbing trees, throwing rocks at the fence, kicking footballs off fences and riding bikes and scooters;
5. Bikes and scooters must not be ridden within the cricket ground. It’s also important to ensure that bikes and scooters aren’t ridden on the cricket outfield, since this damages the grass. This is particularly important since a new outfield has recently been laid at Park Drive; and
6. Unless attending a function, children aged Under 12 years of age are required to vacate the Clubhouse by 9.30pm.
The General Committee wants to ensure all patrons visiting Hartlepool Cricket Club have the best experience possible.
